Education:
Dr. Wakim has earned his PhD degree in Education Studies, Critical Policy, Equity, and Leadership Studies from the University of Western Ontario (UWO), Canada. He also earned a Master of Business Administration- Finance from Notre Dame University (NDU) – Louaize, Lebanon.

Research:

Dr. Wakim’s main focus of research in the field of Education deals with education policy and education resource management under challenging conditions within fragile developing states.

His PhD research examines how Syrian refugee education is enacted in two Lebanese public secondary schools while paying special attention to different educational actors at different levels as well as to the transnational, regional, and local policy enactment.

While completing his PhD education, Dr. Wakim was also engaged with research team and took the responsibility of technical calibration of the US EBAM (Evidence-Based Adequacy Model) into the Canadian context. He was part of the first team that brought such a model outside the US, define its methodology, and support it with the needed evidence from the Canadian context. This research aimed at introducing the model, defining its calibration means, and its impact on the level of resources needed within K-12 public schools to attain the required educational performance level of the Province of Ontario.

Within the field of business, Dr. Wakim was also engaged in research dealing with the effects of COVID-19 on businesses on two dimensions, operations and strategy within two developing countries. This work is co-authored with two business professors from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke – USA
